Notice in this Christian devotional the urging to set your mind. You may not be able to control every thought that comes through your mind. But you can control what you set or focus your mind on. You can control what you linger on.
The text urges us to set our minds on things above. This is a reference to those things that God want us to focus on. God is concerned with your physical, mental, and financial health. He is concerned with your relationships and service. The things above is not a reference to clouds and heavenly thrones.
As you work on staying focused, make this the day that you set your mind on the things of God.
1. On a scale of one to five, where five means great, how well are you doing with “setting your mind on things above”?
2. What will you work on TODAY to help you do better or continue to do great in this area?
Great and awesome God, the One who calls me to set my mind on things above, it is to You that I pray. Thank You for always being available for me to look up to. I confess that I have looked down too often. Please forgive me and help me to live according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, amen.
