Living Carefully and Wisely

“15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” (see Eph. 5:15-17)

Notice in vs. 15 of this Christian devotional the urging to be very careful how we live. God is calling us to live as wise people, not as unwise people. A key part of being careful and wise is time management.

It is wise to seek and pursue the will of God. It is unwise to go through life simply reacting to whatever happens in the course of the day or to be driven by whatever comes to your mind in the moment.

The text is urging us to be careful and wise because we have the power to choose. Make this the day that you live carefully and wise.

Self-Examination

2. What will you work on TODAY to help you do better or continue to do great in this area?

Prayer

Great and awesome God, the One who is calling me to live carefully and wisely, it is to You that I pray. Thank You for trusting me to obey Your will. I confess that I have not always lived as carefully and wisely as I should have. Please forgive me and help me to live according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, amen.
